Office Assistant - Department of Literacy, Early Childhood & Special Education

You must have Federal Work Study through your Financial Aid package.  ANY MAJOR CAN APPLY!

Work study students will provide basic administrative task assistance including monitoring and assisting in the Science of Reading Lab maker space.

Answering and directing incoming phone calls, greeting and escorting students and visitors, scanning and filing paperwork, entering information into databases or spreadsheets, assisting with projects or events, and other general administrative tasks and errands.

Students must demonstrate professionalism and provide quality customer service in accordance with UNI values.  They will maintain positive working relationships, make decisions and solve problems.  Additionally, students will maintain confidentiality, positive communication, accurate records, and an organized, safe working environment.  The work study student will also exhibit flexibility, willingness to learn, ability to adapt to change, and maintain current technology skills.

Specific Skills Required

  • Willing to greet incoming faculty, students, staff and guests.
  • Ability to work with computers (Microsoft Office and Google) and general office equipment.
