Associate Editor Video

TWO PAID VIDEO STORYTELLING POSITIONS 

The Northern Iowan will be hiring two Associate Editors for Video.

Each position is paid for 5 hours a week @$20/hour  ($100 a week).

The two associate editors for video will be producing a weekly short 45-60 second social media videos (for platforms like the NI’s Instagram and Reels/Facebook accounts), and also a more traditional 2.5-3 minute weekly news package that can be standalone or  accompany the NI’s stories at northerniowan.com. 

Applicants will need to demonstrate experience shooting, editing, and storytelling with video.

Required skills: 

• Ability to shoot video and handle audio professionally. 
• Editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Commitment to journalistic standards and ability to produce quality work on weekly deadlines.

Preferred:

• Skills in effects packages or animation.
• Experience in journalism.
