Audio Recording Assistant

The UNI School of Music employs student workers each semester as Audio Recording Assistants.

This semester there are several openings.  Work hours are variable each week, primarily evenings and weekends, for an hourly wage.

Duties include audio recording, sound reinforcement and livestreaming for all School of Music concerts and recitals, presented in Russell Hall and the GBPAC.

Previous audio knowledge is not a primary requirement for new candidates. If you have some background in music and are in college, you probably are qualified.

The important qualities we look for are reliability, good organizational skills, punctuality and availability.

Hours vary depending on how much each student wants to work.  Assignments are about 2-3 hours each.  Usually evening concerts that start at 530pm, 700pm or 730pm.  Some weekend assignments.

Some students take one assignment a week, some do more.  Not the same each week usually.  We schedule the entire semester during the first 2-3 weeks.  Initial month is training.  Then shadowing and accepting assignments later in the semester.
