Marketing and Communications Intern - Rod Library

Now hiring! Rod Library seeks to fill our Marketing and Communications Intern position. The successful candidate would have the opportunity to gain hands-on marketing and communication experience while also providing support to the library and PR coordinator in the completion of PR and marketing projects. The primary duties include independently writing and gathering content, photos, video, and supporting information about our services and user experiences to be used in blog entries, press releases, and newsletters. Other duties may include creating social media content, creating print and digital marketing materials, editing video, and other support for Library events. Number of Openings: 1
Hourly Wage Rate: $12.00
Hours Per Week: 15 to 20
Job Duration: Continuing throughout the year. 
Preferred start date: Jan. 17, 2023

Required qualifications:
  • Major in IDS, graphic design, marketing, communications, or related fields.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as (but not limited to) Facebook and Twitter.
  • Experience with graphic design software.
  • Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess strong computer skills.
  • Be able to perform well without supervision and in a timely manner.
  • Be detail oriented, motivated, and organized.
  • Strong writing, editing, and professional communication skills.
  • Organized, self-directed, and enthusiastic.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with Adobe Suite.
  • Experience with Hootsuite.
  • Knowledgeable about library resources.
  • Photography and video editing experience.
