CIEP Admissions Assistant
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reviews and process all admissions activities and program applications;
collaborates with the Director to communicate with prospective students; works with the International
Engagement PDSO to process immigration documents for newly admitted students; collaborates with
CIEP administrative staff to executive the new student orientation program; and works with the IE
director to review/update the content of admission, pre-arrival information and orientation material.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manages and processes applications in OnBase
2. providing personalized communication to all prospective students
3. Maintains accurate records within the UNI Student Information System (SIS)/Campus Solutions
including and CIEP admission database (Smarsheet)
4. Collaborates closely with the IE PDSO to create immigration documents for F1 students; works
with the IE Secretary to manage enrollment of new students;
5. Processes inquire from prospective students and start the admission process by requesting a
completed application form, copy of passport, financial guarantee, and admission fee;
6. Sends acceptance packets to newly admitted students;
7. Sends pre-arrival and orientation information to newly admitted students;
8. Collaborates with GA Activities Assistant to create and deliver the orientation program for new
students;
9. Works with the office staff to image new students’ documents (I-20 form, passport, student visa,
I-94 form);
10. Always answer the phone and transfer calls to CIEP staff members as needed;
11. Collaborate with the office team staff to assist with special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a full-time, degree-seeking student at UNI in any undergraduate or graduate program. Should have strong written and communication skills, ability to work with diverse student population, must be reliable and able to work in a team environment.
