Marketing Assistant (Graphic Designer)

MUST BE HAVE STRONG GRAPHIC DESIGN SKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK DURING THE SUMMER STARTING MAY 2023.

Position Summary:
The Marketing Assistant reports to the Assistant Director, Marketing. This role will provide support in the areas of graphic design, marketing and public relations (with an emphasis on graphic design). This position will help the candidate to develop skills in marketing, communications, public relations, project management and graphic design.
 
Responsibilities:
Graphic Design
  • Layout and design of a wide variety of projects utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Design will be the primary function of this position, so candidates must have strong graphic design skills to be considered
Marketing
  • Offer input and feedback on marketing promotions
  • Assist in the planning of and writing content for departmental publications
  • Assist in taking photographs and video of student life on campus
  • Maintain showrooms (set-up, tear-down, upkeep)
Public Relations
  • Provide both group and individual tours of dorms, showrooms and dining centers to prospective students
  • Represent Housing & Dining at browsing fairs, answering questions and relaying accurate information; organize deliverables and displays
Other duties as assigned
 
Requirements:
  • Proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Experienced and creative in composition and design
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking
  • Polished and professional when speaking with students, parents and other groups
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel throughout campus
  • Ability to work some early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Familiar with dorm living and campus dining
  • Outgoing personality
 
Education & Experience:
  • Current UNI student, sophomore or above status upon start date
  • Majoring in graphic design or related area of study
  • Strong candidates will have lived on campus for at least one academic year
