Collections Manager - UNI Museum

The UNI Museum is seeking a Collections Manager.

The student collections manager assists the director / chief curator in fulfilling the goal to provide greater access to the UNI Museum’s collections to a wider audience. They hold a leadership position and are in charge of the collections space when the museum staff are not available. This includes the authority to make key decisions, and functional supervision of all students currently working, interning, or volunteering for the museum.


The student in this position will have weekly meetings with the director / chief curator to go over the weekly tasks but will be responsible for implementing the projects among the student staff. The student will also be responsible for ensuring the museum is fully closed down at the end of the shift to ensure the safety of the collection. This position will also be part of the bi-weekly staff meetings


Number of Openings: 1
Hourly Wage Rate: $14.00
Hours Per Week: 10-20
Schedule: Summer only position
Preferred start date: May 20, 2024


Required qualifications:

  • At least one year of museum experience is required.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with museum databases.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe products.
