Marketing and Communication Intern
The Marketing and Communications Intern at the IWRC assists the communication and public relations team in their advertising and promotional efforts. The intern is responsible for the creation, curation and distribution of traditional and digital content through the IWRC's existing channels.This includes social media, presentations, posters, flyers, newsletters, trade publications, etc. The intern will be well versed in the IWRC’s brand as well as program specific branding for IWRC program pillars.
This role is ideal for a multitalented, digital media expert, with an interest in supporting the business community to reduce their environmental impact. We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal, organizational and execution skills; Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills and a desire to learn and experiment with emerging technologies and trends.
An interest and experience in Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and curate social media content for all IWRC channels (YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Business)
- Write copy for social media posts, web content, promotional emails and other marketing collateral
- Plan and schedule digital content
- Collaborate with communications team to execute SM content
- Research social media best practices and trends
- Research and compile media contacts and outlets for outreach efforts
- Design small communication/marketing assets
- Hire and train next marketing and communications intern
- Other duties as assigned
Additional compensation
- $0.50 raises at the beginning of each semester
