
Cedar Valley Youth Poet Laureate Coach
Primary Responsibilities:
The Cedar Valley Youth Poet Laureate (CVYPL) Coach will help develop the Cedar Valley Youth Poet Laureate Program by working with the North American Review Editors to create programming both on campus and at schools and civic organizations in the program’s 8 county area. The CVYPL Coach will mentor high school students on writing and performance in person at workshop and over zoom sessions. Each semester, the CVYPL will travel with NAR Editors to host workshops. The work will occur during the school semesters of spring 25, fall 25, spring 26, and finish 1 month into fall 26.
General Qualifications: good communication skills, comfortable with public speaking, background with literature, interest in education, creativity, positivity, willingness to lead, good organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications: experience with slam or performance poetry, previous North American Review experience or knowledge, leadership, social media management, familiar with Urban Word, experience with civics
