The marketing assistant will provide support to the Business & Community Services (BCS) department, including its 12 affiliate programs. The ideal candidate would be a proactive worker who is willing to learn new strategic and hands-on marketing techniques. The student will have an opportunity to expand on skills learned within the classroom and test out new skills to round out their experience before graduation. They will report directly to the Communications & Marketing Coordinator for BCS, Katie Kreis-Voigt.

Responsibilities include

  • Managing BCS social media channels
  • Basic graphic design support
  • Writing for blogs and articles
  • Represent BCS at UNI events, including UNI Day at the Capitol, Homecoming Weekend, the Iowa State Fair

Preferred skills

  • Classroom or applied experience with strategic marketing
  • Adobe Suite and/or Canva design experience, or on another comparable software
  • Social media experience: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Understanding of brand identity
