Facilities Assistant - Rod Library
Hiring for Summer!
Rod Library is hiring a Facilities Assistant for the summer. This is a behind-the-scenes, hands-on, position that supports the entire library. The Facilities Assistant is centered in the Dean’s Office but moves about the building during most shifts. This person has the opportunity to interact with most all units in the building throughout the course of a semester. The student in this position completes various tasks associated with maintenance of the facility and furniture.
Specific duties include:
- Moves or delivers furniture and equipment, using a book truck, flatbed cart, two wheel cart or drywall cart.
- Repairs, disassembles, and assembles furniture, using hand tools or electric tools or without tools.
- Updates and creates signage using word processing programs or Microsoft Publisher.
- Completes clerical projects such as creating lists, typing lists of supplies and inventories, and other documents, using programs such as Microsoft Access, Word, or Google Suite.
- Creates drawings or graphs of furniture arrangements and measures spaces and furniture.
- Recycles materials.

Hourly Wage Rate: $11.00
Hours Per Week: 10 (Summer only)
Schedule: Work hours will be scheduled between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 pm. Monday-Friday with no weekend or evening hours. Position ends August 22, 2025.
Preferred start date: May 20, 2025
Required qualifications:
- Self-starter.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in a hands-on position.
