Position Overview: The Social Media and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for executing a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the Division of Student Life's online presence. This role involves creating engaging content, collaborating with campus partners, and ensuring all communications align with the University's brand and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and Share Social Media Content: Design and produce engaging content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, using tools like Canva and other software while staying current with popular trends and integrate them into the social media strategy without oversaturating content.
- Develop and Manage Social Media Content Calendar: Plan and schedule social media posts to ensure consistent and timely content delivery. Understand dimensions and marketing strategies for all different types of social media as well as internal digital signage.
- Align Content with Other Channels: Coordinate with existing channels such as the Panther Experience Newsletter to ensure cohesive messaging while also staying consistent with the Student Life brand.
- Ensure Content Accessibility: Make sure all social media content is accessible to all users, following best practices and guidelines.
- Engage with Campus Partners and Student Organizations: Actively interact with various campus groups on social media to foster community and collaboration. Keep up to date with current and upcoming events to create relevant and timely content.
- Assist in Event Promotion: Help organize and promote events like the Student Life Leadership Awards to enhance the Division's visibility.
- Team Organization and Management: Lead a team to plan and create content, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Front Desk and Testing Support: Provide coverage for front desk duties and testing as needed, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to policies.
